The Quill Knotless Tissue-Closure Device with Monoderm suture is an absorbable, barbed suture with needles attached. It is made for wound closure and works by bidirectional fixation within the wound. It is sold by the box.
- Knotless tissue-closure device that uses bidirectional fixation within the wound, a different approach to wound closure
- Helically arrayed barbs spread tension across the entire length of the wound or tissue being approximated
- Barbs remove the need for interrupted sutures or tied knots
- Bidirectional barb design lets two surgeons work on one closure at the same time, which may increase operating time efficiency
- Absorbable suture with needle, Quill Monoderm series
- Barbed monofilament suture, size 2-0, 12-strand
- Polyglycolic Acid / PCL suture material, undyed and uncoated
