The Quill Knotless Tissue-Closure Device with Monoderm suture is an absorbable suture with needle, made by Surgical Specialties. Barbs along the suture hold the tissue in place, so no knots are needed. It is double-armed, with a needle on each end.
- Quill Knotless Tissue-Closure Device uses bidirectional fixation within the wound, a technology made for wound closure
- Helically arrayed barbs distribute tension across the entire length of the wound or tissue being approximated
- The barbs remove the need for interrupted sutures or tied knots
- The bidirectional barb design allows two surgeons to work on one closure at the same time, which may increase operating time efficiency
- Absorbable suture made of Polyglycolic Acid / PCL
- Barbed monofilament, 12-strand, size 3-0
- Suture length: 11-4/5 inch, undyed and uncoated
- Double-armed with PS-1 precision reverse cutting needles
- Stainless steel needle, 24 mm long, 3/8 circle
