The Surgical Specialties Quill Monoderm is a knotless tissue-closure device, an absorbable barbed suture with a needle on each end. It is made for wound closure and sold sterile. The barbs hold the tissue in place, so no knots are tied.
- Quill Knotless Tissue-Closure Device uses bidirectional fixation within the wound, a new approach to wound closure
- Helically arrayed barbs distribute tension across the entire length of the wound or tissue being approximated
- The barbs remove the need for interrupted suture or tied knots
- Bidirectional barb design lets two surgeons work on one closure at the same time, which may increase operating time efficiency
- Absorbable suture with needle, Monoderm series
