Description / Covidien S-185 - Sofsilk™ Suture - 36/Box
The Covidien Sofsilk suture is a non-absorbable suture, one that stays in place and is not broken down by the body. It is a braided, coated silk suture supplied without a needle. It is made for surgical teams and facilities that need a sterile 2-0 silk suture.
- 18 inch length
- Non-absorbable, sterile and non-mutagenic surgical suture made of natural silk fibers called fibroin
- Braided construction, coated evenly with either silicone or a special wax mixture to reduce capillarity and increase surface lubricity
- The coating is made to improve handling, ease of passage through tissue and knot run-down
- Proprietary coating process allows smooth flow through tissue while maintaining knot security
- Used for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including cardiovascular, ophthalmic, microsurgery and neurological surgery
- Nonabsorbable suture without needle
