The Quill Knotless Tissue-Closure Device with Monoderm suture is an absorbable suture with a needle at each end. It is a barbed monofilament, so it holds tissue in place without tied knots. It is made by Surgical Specialties and sold by the box.
- Bidirectional fixation within the wound is the technology behind the Quill knotless tissue-closure device
- Helically arrayed barbs distribute tension across the entire length of the wound or tissue being approximated
- The barbs remove the need for interrupted suture or tying knots
- The bidirectional barb design lets two surgeons work on one closure at the same time, which may increase operating time efficiency
- Suture material: Polyglycolic Acid / PCL, barbed monofilament, uncoated, undyed
- Suture size 2-0, 5 inch suture length
