The Quill Knotless Tissue-Closure Device from Surgical Specialties is an absorbable suture with needle, made for wound closure without knots. Barbs on the suture hold it in place from within the wound, in both directions. It is a double-armed, sterile, undyed monofilament suture, size 3-0.
- Knotless tissue-closure technology: bidirectional fixation within the wound holds the closure in place
- Helically arrayed barbs distribute tension across the entire length of the wound or tissue being approximated
- The barbed design removes the need for interrupted suture or tying knots
- Bidirectional barb design lets two surgeons work on one closure at the same time, which may increase operating time efficiency
