The Surgical Specialties PolySyn suture with needle is a synthetic absorbable suture, one the body absorbs over time. It is a braided polyglycolic acid suture, size 4-0, paired with a 13 mm stainless steel needle. It is sold by the box.
- Very smooth, low-friction synthetic absorbable suture
- Strength retention is 50% at 2 weeks and 20% at 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 50 to 90 days
- Proprietary coating reduces tissue drag
- Suture material: polyglycolic acid, braided, 12-strand
