The Surgical Specialties PolySyn suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one the body gradually absorbs over time. It is a braided, coated polyglycolic acid suture with a stainless steel reverse cutting needle. It is sold sterile and undyed, with one needle per suture.
- Synthetic absorbable suture described as extraordinarily smooth, with low friction
- Strength retention is 50% at 2 weeks and 20% at 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption takes 50 to 90 days
- Proprietary coating reduces tissue drag
