The Coated Vicryl suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one the body gradually absorbs so it does not need to be removed. It is made of braided polyglactin 910 and comes attached to a 3/8 circle precision reverse cutting needle. It is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation.
- Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures
- Not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues
- Made for easy knot tying, with knot security on the first throw
- Frequent uses: general tissue and muscle approximation, ligatures, reproductive tract, ophthalmic, and orthopedic (second choice)
- Loses 50% of its tensile strength after 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption takes 56 to 76 days
- Absorbable suture with needle, Coated Vicryl, size 6-0
