The J & J Healthcare Systems Coated Vicryl suture is an absorbable suture, one the body gradually absorbs, supplied with a needle attached. It is a braided Polyglactin 910 suture in size 6-0. It is sterile and double-armed, with a needle on each end.
- Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures
- Not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues
- Made for easy knot tying and knot security on the first throw
- Frequent uses include general tissue and muscle approximation, ligatures, reproductive tract, ophthalmic, and orthopedic (2nd choice)
- Loses 50% of its tensile strength after 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 56 to 76 days
- Suture material: Polyglactin 910, braided, coated, violet
- Suture length: 18 inch suture, size 6-0
- Needle: TG100-8, 1/4 circle spatula needle, stainless steel, 6.5 mm long
