The Surgical Specialties Monoderm Y497N is a sterile, absorbable suture with a needle attached. The suture is a synthetic monofilament, a single smooth strand, made of Polyglycolic Acid / PCL. It is used for subcuticular closure and soft tissue approximation.

- Tensile strength retention: 64 - 76% at 7 days and 40% at 14 days, and the suture is essentially absorbed at 90 days
