The Monoderm suture with needle is a synthetic absorbable suture, a thread the body absorbs over time, made as a single monofilament strand. It is made by Surgical Specialties and comes sterile with an attached stainless steel needle. It is used for subcuticular closure and soft tissue approximation.

- Retains 64 - 76% tensile strength at 7 days and 40% at 14 days, and is essentially absorbed at 90 days
