The PDS II suture is a synthetic absorbable suture, one the body gradually absorbs over time. It is a monofilament polydioxanone suture, 27 inches long, paired with a 26 mm stainless steel needle. It is made for facilities and caregivers who need exact suture and needle specifications.
- Long-lasting synthetic absorbable suture, made for greater pliability and easier handling
- Strength retention is 80% at 2 weeks, 70% at 4 weeks and 60% at 6 weeks
- Complete mass absorption takes 183 to 238 days
- Made for smooth passage through tissue, with low tissue reactivity
