The J & J Healthcare Systems PDS II suture is a synthetic absorbable suture, one the body gradually absorbs over time. It is a monofilament polydioxanone suture with a stainless steel taper point needle attached. It is sold sterile and ready to use in surgical and wound closure settings.
- Long lasting synthetic absorbable suture with greater pliability and easier handling
- Strength retention: 80% at 2 weeks, 70% at 4 weeks and 60% at 6 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 183 to 238 days
- Smooth passage through tissue and low tissue reactivity
- Polydioxanone monofilament suture, uncoated, size 0
- Violet suture, 27 inch length
