The PDS II suture with needle from J & J Healthcare Systems is a synthetic absorbable suture made of polydioxanone. It is a monofilament suture, and it is described as more pliable and easier to handle. It comes sterile with one stainless steel taper point needle attached.
- Long lasting synthetic absorbable suture with greater pliability and easier handling
- Strength retention of 80% at 2 weeks, 70% at 4 weeks and 60% at 6 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 183 to 238 days
- Smooth passage through tissue and low tissue reactivity
- Polydioxanone monofilament suture, size 0
- CT-2 needle: 1/2 circle, taper point, stainless steel, 26 mm needle length
