The PDS II suture with needle from J & J Healthcare Systems is a synthetic absorbable suture, meaning the body absorbs it over time. It is a sterile, uncoated polydioxanone monofilament made for easier handling. It is paired with a 36 mm stainless steel reverse cutting needle.
- Long lasting synthetic absorbable suture with greater pliability and easier handling
- Strength retention: 80% at 2 weeks, 70% at 4 weeks, 60% at 6 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 183 to 238 days
- Smooth passage through tissue and low tissue reactivity
