The Coated Vicryl suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one that the body absorbs over time instead of needing removal. It is braided polyglactin 910 with a stainless steel spatula needle on each end. It is used for general soft tissue approximation and ligation.
- Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures
- Not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues
- Knots tie easily and hold securely on the first throw
- Frequent uses: general tissue and muscle approximation, ligatures, reproductive tract, ophthalmic, and orthopedic (2nd choice)
- Loses 50% of its tensile strength after 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 56 to 76 days
- Absorbable, coated, braided suture made of polyglactin 910
- Suture size 6-0, 8 inch suture length, violet
- Needle: S-14, 1/4 circle, spatula type, stainless steel, 8 mm length
