The Smith & Nephew Primapore adhesive dressing is an island dressing, a dressing with an absorbent pad set in the center of an adhesive border. It is sterile and comes in a 10 x 30 Centimeter size. It has a polyester wound contact layer and a thick, absorbent pad.
- Absorbent, low-adherent pad: the polyester wound contact layer lets blood or exudate pass into the absorbent pad
- Designed for minimal discomfort when the dressing is removed
- Low allergy acrylic adhesive is spread evenly onto the nonwoven backing for secure fixation over the wound site
- Soft and conformable, made to fit all wound sites, including harder areas such as shoulders and axillae
- Protector paper is slit across the width of the dressing, so you can apply it without touching the pad or adhesive area with fingers or forceps
- Thick pad is made to limit fluid strike-through and to help protect the wound from trauma
