The Coated Vicryl Plus suture is an absorbable antibacterial suture, one that the body absorbs over time, attached to a needle. It is made of braided polyglactin 910 and comes with a 19 mm PS-2 precision reverse cutting needle. Each suture is sterile and sold 12 to a box.
- Antibacterial suture described by the manufacturer as killing bacteria and inhibiting bacterial colonization on the suture
- In vitro testing showed a zone of inhibition against common surgical site pathogens: Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA and MRSE
