The Ethibond Excel suture with needle is a nonabsorbable suture, one that is not broken down by the body. It is made of braided polyester and comes attached to a V-37 taper cutting needle. It is sold by J & J Healthcare Systems as a coated, sterile, size 5 suture.
- Nonabsorbable braided polyester suture made from high molecular weight, long chain, linear polyesters
- Braided construction, made for optimal handling properties
- Highly adherent coating made from a relatively nonreactive, nonabsorbable compound
- The coating acts as a lubricant and improves handling compared with braided, uncoated fiber
- Polyester suture material, braided, 12-strand
- Size 5, coated
- Green suture, 30 inch length
- V-37 Surgalloy needle, 1/2 circle, taper cutting type
