The Coated Vicryl suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one that the body absorbs over time, made of braided Polyglactin 910. It pairs a size 0 suture with a CT-1 1/2 circle taper point needle. It is sold sterile and undyed.
- Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures
- Not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues
- Made for easy knot tying, with knot security on the first throw
- Frequent uses: general tissue and muscle approximation, ligatures, reproductive tract, ophthalmic, and orthopedic (2nd choice)
- Loses 50% of its tensile strength after 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 56 to 76 days
