The J & J Healthcare Systems Coated Vicryl suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one the body absorbs over time, made of braided Polyglactin 910. It pairs a 6-0 suture with a 13 mm, 3/8 circle precision reverse cutting needle. It is supplied sterile.
- Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including ophthalmic procedures
- Not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues
- Made for easy knot tying, with knot security on the first throw
- Frequent uses: general tissue and muscle approximation, ligatures, reproductive tract, ophthalmic, and orthopedic (2nd choice)
- Loses 50% of tensile strength after 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 56 to 76 days
- Suture material: Polyglactin 910, coated, braided, 36-strand
- Size 6-0, undyed, 18 inch suture
- Needle: P-3, 3/8 circle, precision reverse cutting, stainless steel, 13 mm long
