The Coated Vicryl suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one the body absorbs over time rather than one that has to be removed. It is braided polyglactin 910 with a coating, attached to a 1/2 circle taper point needle. It is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation.
- Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures
- Not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues
- Made for easy knot tying and knot security on the first throw
- Frequent uses: general tissue and muscle approximation, ligatures, reproductive tract, ophthalmic, and orthopedic (2nd choice)
- Loses 50% of its tensile strength after 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 56 to 76 days
- Absorbable, braided suture made of polyglactin 910 with a coating
- Size 0, undyed, 27 inch suture length
- CT-1 needle: 1/2 circle, taper point, stainless steel, 36 mm long
- 1 needle per suture
- Sterile
