The J & J Healthcare Systems Coated Vicryl suture is an absorbable suture, one the body gradually absorbs, supplied with an attached needle. It is a braided polyglactin 910 suture in size 4-0 with a PC-3 precision conventional cutting needle. It is sold sterile and undyed.
- Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures
- Not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues
- Made for easy knot tying, with knot security on the first throw
- Frequent uses: general tissue and muscle approximation, ligatures, reproductive tract, ophthalmic, and orthopedic (second choice)
- Loses 50% of its tensile strength after 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption takes 56 to 76 days
- Polyglactin 910 suture material, braided, with a coating
- Size 4-0, 18 inch suture, undyed
