The Coated Vicryl suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one that the body absorbs over time, made of braided Polyglactin 910. It is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures. It is not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues.
- Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including ophthalmic procedures, but not for cardiovascular or neurological tissues
- Made for ease of knot tying and knot security on the first throw
- Frequent uses include general tissue and muscle approximation, ligatures, reproductive tract and ophthalmic procedures, and orthopedic use as a second choice
- Loses 50% of its tensile strength after 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption takes 56 to 76 days
- Absorbable Polyglactin 910 suture, coated, braided, 12-strand
