The Coated Vicryl suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one that the body absorbs over time, so it does not need to be removed. It is a braided Polyglactin 910 suture with a stainless steel spatula needle on each end. It is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation.
- Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures
- Not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues
- Ease of knot tying, with knot security on the first throw
- Frequent uses: general tissue and muscle approximation, ligatures, reproductive tract, ophthalmic, and orthopedic (2nd choice)
- Loses 50% of its tensile strength after 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 56 to 76 days
- Absorbable, coated, braided Polyglactin 910 suture, size 5-0
- Undyed, 18 inch suture, 12-strand
- Double-armed with S-14 spatula needles, 1/4 circle, 8 mm long, stainless steel
