The Coated Vicryl suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one the body gradually absorbs over time. It is made of braided Polyglactin 910 and comes sterile with a stainless steel spatula needle on each end. It is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation.
- Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including ophthalmic procedures; not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues
- Made for ease of knot tying and knot security on the first throw
- Frequent uses: general tissue and muscle approximation, ligatures, reproductive tract, ophthalmic, and orthopedic (2nd choice)
- Loses 50% of tensile strength after 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 56 to 76 days
- Suture material: Polyglactin 910, coated, braided, 12-strand
- Suture size 8-0, violet, 8 inch suture
- Double-armed: one needle on each end
