The Coated Vicryl suture is an absorbable suture, one the body absorbs over time, attached to a PS-2 needle. It is a size 3-0 braided polyglactin 910 suture in an undyed color. It is supplied sterile, with one 19 mm stainless steel needle.
- Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures
- Not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues
- Made for easy knot tying, with knot security on the first throw
- Frequent uses: general tissue and muscle approximation, ligatures, reproductive tract, ophthalmic, and orthopedic (2nd choice)
- Loses 50% of its tensile strength after 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 56 to 76 days
- Absorbable polyglactin 910, braided, 12-strand construction
- Coated suture, size 3-0, undyed
- 18 inch suture length
- PS-2 precision reverse cutting needle, 3/8 circle, 19 mm long
