The Coated Vicryl suture is an absorbable suture, one the body gradually absorbs, supplied with an attached needle. It is made of braided Polyglactin 910 and comes sterile. It is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation.
- Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures
- Not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues
- Made for easy knot tying and knot security on the first throw
- Frequent uses include general tissue and muscle approximation, ligatures, reproductive tract, ophthalmic and orthopedic (second choice)
- Loses 50% of its tensile strength after 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 56 to 76 days
- Polyglactin 910 suture, coated, braided, 12-strand
