The Prolene suture with needle is a nonabsorbable monofilament suture, meaning a single-strand thread that the body does not break down. It is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation. This version is double-armed, with a needle on each end, and comes sterile.
- Nonabsorbable monofilament suture indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation
- Used in cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurological procedures
- Does not adhere to tissue, which makes it suitable for skin closure
- Bright blue color makes the suture easier to see when it is time to remove it
