The Prolene suture with needle is a nonabsorbable monofilament suture, meaning a single smooth strand that the body does not break down. It is made of polypropylene and comes sterile, with a stainless steel taper point needle on each end. It is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation.
- Nonabsorbable monofilament suture indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation
- Used in cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurological procedures
- Non-adherent to tissue, which makes it suitable for skin closure
