The Prolene suture with needle is a nonabsorbable monofilament suture, a single strand thread that the body does not break down. It is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, which means joining tissue edges and tying off vessels. It comes sterile, with a stainless steel PS-1 needle attached.
- Nonabsorbable monofilament suture indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation
- Used in cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurological procedures
- Non-adherent to tissue, which makes it a fit for skin closure
- Bright blue color makes the suture easier to see when it is time for removal
