The Prolene suture with needle is a nonabsorbable monofilament suture, a single strand that does not break down in the body. It is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation. It comes sterile, with one stainless steel needle attached.

- Used in cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurological procedures
- Non-adherent to tissue, which makes it suited to skin closure
