The Prolene suture with needle is a nonabsorbable monofilament suture, a single strand that does not dissolve in the body. It is made of polypropylene and comes attached to a 1/2 circle taper point needle. It is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation.
- Nonabsorbable monofilament suture indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation
- Used in cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurological procedures
- Non-adherent to tissue, which makes it suitable for skin closure
- Bright blue color makes the suture easier to see when it is time for removal
