The Prolene suture with needle is a nonabsorbable suture, meaning it is not broken down by the body. It is a single strand of blue polypropylene (a monofilament) paired with a P-3 precision reverse cutting needle. It is made for general soft tissue approximation (bringing tissue edges together) and ligation (tying off).
- Nonabsorbable monofilament suture, indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation

- Does not adhere to tissue, which makes it a fit for skin closure
