The BD Insyte Autoguard is a peripheral IV catheter, a short catheter placed in a vein through the skin. It is 24 gauge and 3/4 inch long, with a yellow color code and a sterile, radiopaque catheter. A push button safety shield covers the needle after use.
- Autoguard needle shielding device: push the button and the needle retracts right away, which lowers the risk of accidental needle stick injuries
- Stabilizing wings give you a large surface area for taping down the catheter, which helps with catheter securement
