The BD Insyte Autoguard peripheral IV catheter is an 18 gauge catheter, 1.16 inches long, made from BD Vialon polyurethane biomaterial. It has a needle shielding device: you push a button and the needle retracts. It comes sterile and ready to use.
- Autoguard needle shielding device: push the button and the needle retracts right away, which lowers the risk of accidental needle stick injuries
- Made from Becton Dickinson's Vialon, a proprietary biomaterial
- Designed to reduce IV restarts by reducing complications
