The BD Insyte-N Autoguard is a peripheral IV catheter, a short catheter placed in a peripheral vein. It is a 14 gauge, 1-3/4 inch catheter with a push-button safety shield for the needle. The catheter is made of BD Vialon biomaterial, a proprietary polyurethane.
- Autoguard needle shielding device: push the button and the needle retracts right away, which lowers the risk of accidental needle stick injuries
