The BD Insyte-N Autoguard is a peripheral IV catheter, a short catheter placed in a vein through the skin. It is a 24 gauge, 3/4 inch catheter with a push button safety feature. It is supplied sterile.
- Autoguard needle shielding device: push the button and the needle retracts right away, which lowers the risk of accidental needle stick injuries
- Made with BD Vialon, a proprietary biomaterial described by the manufacturer as shown to improve clinical and economic outcomes
- Designed to reduce IV restarts by reducing complications
