The 3M Adaptic dressing is an oil emulsion impregnated dressing, a knitted mesh layer coated with petrolatum emulsion. It is nonadherent, so it does not stick to the wound. It comes sterile in a 5 x 9 inch rectangle.
- Knitted cellulose acetate is impregnated with petrolatum emulsion so exudate (wound fluid) can pass through easily to the absorbent dressing
- Nonadherent design, made so the dressing does not stick to wounds
