Description / Smith & Nephew 59480100 - AlgiSite M Alginate Dressing, 2 x 2 inch - 1/Each, 10/Box, 100/Case
The AlgiSite M alginate dressing from Smith & Nephew is a soft, square dressing made of calcium alginate, a fiber material. It comes in a 2 x 2 inch size and is supplied sterile. It is used on moderate to highly exuding wounds, meaning wounds that produce a moderate to high amount of fluid.
- Forms a soft gel in a moderate to highly exuding wound, and the gel does not adhere to the tissue in the wound bed, so the dressing is easy to remove
- Very soft and conformable: you can mold, fold or cut it to fit a wide range of wound shapes and sizes
- As the fibers gel, the dressing keeps an even closer contact with the wound
- Advanced bonding technique in the dressing greatly reduces the fibers released when it is handled
- Absorbs 13 times its own weight in exudate, which allows the dressing to stay in the wound for up to 7 days, depending on the nature of the wound and the volume of exudate
- Size: 5 x 5 centimeters (2 x 2 inch)
- Material: calcium alginate
- Shape: square
- Color: white
- Length: up to 4 inch length
- Sterile
Check that the 2 x 2 inch size (5 x 5 centimeters) suits your wound shape and size before ordering.
