The Covidien Biosyn suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one the body absorbs over time, made from a synthetic polyester. It is a monofilament suture with a 3/8 circle precision reverse cutting needle. It is sold by the box of 12.
- Biosyn synthetic absorbable suture, made from a synthetic polyester called Glycomer 631
- Glycomer 631 is composed of glycolide (60%), dioxanone (14%) and trimethylene carbonate (26%)
- Monofilament construction, made for smooth passage through tissue
- Supports the wound for up to 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 90 to 110 days
- Suture size 4-0, polyester, uncoated
- Suture length: 18 inch suture
- Suture color: undyed
- Sterile
- P-12 needle: 3/8 circle, precision reverse cutting, alloy needle
