The Covidien Biosyn suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one the body breaks down over time, so it does not need to be removed. It is a sterile, undyed monofilament, a single smooth strand, paired with a P-12 precision reverse cutting needle. Facility buyers can check the full specifications below.
- Made from Glycomer 631, a synthetic polyester composed of glycolide (60%), dioxanone (14%) and trimethylene carbonate (26%)
- Monofilament construction, made for smooth passage through tissue
- Supports the wound for up to 3 weeks
- Complete mass absorption in 90 to 110 days
