The Medtronic Shiley Hi-Lo Intermediate Endotracheal Tube is a cuffed airway tube, the kind placed through the mouth or nose into the windpipe. It is a sterile, curved, clear plastic tube for adult patients. Its shorter cuff suits intubations where that is preferred.
- Tip-To-Tip radiopaque line
- Pilot balloon with a mechanical self-sealing valve
- Made for oral and nasal intubations where a shorter cuff is desired
- Thin cuff forms a low-pressure seal and conforms to uneven tracheal surfaces
- Low intracuff pressure is distributed over an adequate surface area, which reduces the risk of tracheal tissue damage
