Description / J & J Healthcare Systems VR496 - Coated Vicryl™ Rapide Suture with Needle - 12/Dozen, 12/Box
The Vicryl Rapide coated suture with needle is an absorbable suture, one that the body absorbs over time so it does not need to be removed. It is made of braided polyglactin 910 and comes attached to a stainless steel needle. It is made by J & J Healthcare Systems for superficial soft tissue closure where short-term wound support is needed.
- Indicated for superficial soft tissue approximation of the skin and mucosa where only short-term wound support of 7 to 10 days is needed
- Initial strength is comparable to that of nylon and gut
- Causes lower tissue reaction than chromic gut suture
- Described as the fastest-absorbing synthetic suture
- Absorbable suture with needle, Vicryl Rapide, coated
- Suture material: polyglactin 910, braided, 12-strand
