The Prolene suture with needle is a nonabsorbable monofilament suture, a single strand that does not break down in the body. It is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation. It comes sterile, in blue, with one stainless steel needle attached.
- Nonabsorbable monofilament suture indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation
- Used in cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurological procedures
- Non-adherent to tissue, which makes it well suited to skin closure
- Bright blue color makes the suture easier to see when it is time for removal
- Tensile strength retention: indefinite
- Suture material: polypropylene, monofilament, uncoated
