The Covidien Polysorb suture is an absorbable suture, one that the body breaks down over time, supplied without a needle. It is a braided, coated polyester suture in size 1. It is made for soft tissue approximation or ligation and for ophthalmic surgery.
- Made for soft tissue approximation or ligation and for ophthalmic surgery
- Not for use in cardiovascular or neural tissue
- Pre-cut, 18 inch length
- Absorbable suture
- Made of Lactomer glycolide/lactide copolymer, a synthetic polyester composed of glycolide and lactide (derived from glycolic and lactic acids)
- Coated with a mixture of a caprolactone/glycolide copolymer and calcium stearoyl lactylate
- Violet color for greater visibility
- Size 1
- Braided, 12-strand construction
- Suture material: polyester
- Sterile
- Supplied without a needle
