The Fisherbrand Bacteriology Culture Collection and Transport System is a self-contained, sterile kit for collecting a specimen and transporting it. Each system pairs a swab with a glass tube that holds a semisolid, pre-reduced transport medium. Each one is wrapped in its own peel pouch and is ready to use.
- Self-contained system, sterilized with gamma radiation and ready to use
- Wrapped in a convenient peel pouch format
- Glass tube contains a semisolid, pre-reduced transport medium
- Lot number and expiration date are printed on the tube labels
- Complete collection and transportation system for viruses, chlamydia, mycoplasma and ureaplasma
- Glass beads add surface area for cell adhesion and help spread the specimen in later culturing
- Scored Dacron-tipped swab breaks off cleanly at the right length to fit inside the tube
- Cap engages the swab shaft automatically on closing and holds it tightly on reopening
