The AquaRite Extra CMC gelling fiber wound dressing from Sion Brands is a soft, conformable nonwoven dressing, a pad that turns to gel as it takes in fluid. It is made from sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and strengthening cellulose fibers. It comes sterile in a 4 x 5 inch rectangle.
- Gel forms as the dressing absorbs fluid and holds debris and bacteria inside the fiber dressing
- The gel conforms closely to the surface of the wound bed and keeps its structure even when saturated, which makes the dressing easier to remove
- Soft, conformable nonwoven dressing made from sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and strengthening cellulose fibers
- High vertical absorption draws exudate (wound fluid) into the fiber dressing and away from the wound and surrounding skin, helping guard against maceration
