The DermaGinate Ag silver alginate dressing is a sterile, square dressing made from alginate, a material derived to absorb fluid. It is non-adhesive and has no border, so you secure it as your care plan directs. It is made for wounds with moderate to heavy exudate, which is the fluid a wound produces.
- Absorbs moderate to heavy exudate
- Gelled alginate can be removed intact
- Designed for use in a moist wound environment and to assist with autolysis, the body's natural breakdown of dead tissue
- Used in bioburden management of infected wounds
- Contains silver, which protects the dressing against microbial contamination and helps control odor
- White to off-white color lets you assess exudate without the dressing masking it
